Daddy Avett to Perform at Old Church
Jim Avett, the father of the Avett Brothers, will play an intimate show with Finnegan Bell at the historic St Thomas and Denis Church, an adorable little Cainhoy parish (1513 Cainhoy Road) with a 120-person capacity, at 7:30 p.m. Sun. March 8. Also known as Brick Church or White Church, the building was rebuilt in 1819 after the original 1708 structure burned in a fire.
The event is hosted by STAC (St Thomas Anglican Church) House Shows, which \”is an art initiative launched from our new parish growing in Mount Pleasant, which, along with our amazing partners at Awendaw Green and Gil Shuler Design, simply purpose to endow, commission, promote, and produce excellent events for the community centered around original music and art,\” says Shane Williams, STAC\’s worship arts director and vocalist/songwriter in local folk duo Finnegan Bell.
Williams continues, \”Specifically, STAC House Shows are working to promote quality and intimate listening room environments for national and local artists who are excellent at their craft and thrive at a high level in this kind of storyteller environment.\”
